Shadow Bay Park is a local park at the corner of Conroy and Turkey lake road in Orlando. It is small park compared to many around here. The park has hiking trails, tennis courts, basketball court, baseball court, fishing, exercise area, picnic tables and children play area to name a few.
This lake is a popular fishing area. Normally not crowded. I have seen fish that are caught that are huge.
Just like many parks in Florida there is plenty wildlife. You often see rabbits, tortoises, lots birds, snakes and occasionally bob cats and grey fox. It is safe to go there . There has not been any incidences with wildlife and human. You may get startled.
The vegetation is beautiful depending on the time of the year. In the Fall you will see some trees without leaves like in the northern states
Trails are paved and you have cross trails that are not paved. But it is sandy soil. Dogs and other pets are allowed on the trail but leashed. Particularly dogs.
The nice thing about these trails is that you could bike, roller blade and long board too. A lot of hiking trails prohibits doing all that in other places.
Along the trail it is pretty shady.
Tennis courts could be rented per hour. There are many courts in the park and it does not matter what time you go. You could also take lessons. This is for adults and children.
The exercise area is very nice as it is spaced well. You will be able to get a pretty good workout here.
Children play area tend to get crowded.
There are public bathrooms and water fountains.
Of course baseball.
Basket ball is a popular thing here and lots of locals get together here.
Terraces could rented for events. There are barbecue grills, water and power outlets. Overall it is a nice place just to get away from the day to day. The park is very close to Universal Studios and Volcano Bay.
