Travelideasusa is my journal for my travels. I like to see the world. This is my passion. I take every opportunity that comes my way, to travel and venture out. I have traveled to thirty three countries and counting. My focus is to visit to all the major destinations. I look for hiking trails and dangerous hikes, places that can be visited by bike. I like to pack my bike and ride for days at a time. When I look at my pictures, it brings me a lot of joy and good memories. A lot of effort goes in to capturing these photos and videos. Sometimes I have to hide my GoPro or iPhone as I may in an area where I could get robbed. This happens a lot in certain countries more than others. I am not an average traveler, I do a lot of walking during my traveling as there are many interesting things and places to see in every street corner and the world in general. If you have visited places like Chicago, Rome or Paris. You know what I am talking about. More than ever, countries are showcasing places of interests to excite people, so they would visit them. Even rural unheard of places are doing that. They do it for tourism and their local economies. Airlines are making it affordable and making Stopovers free if you care to take the advantage of them. My traveling has given me the upper hand to beautiful pictures and lots of videos. This has automatically inspired me to have a YouTube channel.
If you are a traveler like me you have taken a lot photos and videos. This is true for a lot of tourist, who take the trouble in search of such places. Sometimes things don't go according to plan while you are on this quest. You prepare and plan well and take your notes, your map and your phone, yet some places are hard to find. Not everything is in black and white. Google is a big help in making things easier. I always plan my vacations with Google. For the most part they are right on target specifically in first world countries. But if you happen to go to third world, a simple search for a McDonald’s or a Starbucks can be so challenging that you would give up the search. There are other times you get so lost that you are walking in circles. I have encountered many tourist whom fell in to the same situation. We get talking and some of them are my friends. For such critical moments it is nice to hear a voice telling you what you should know. This led me to create a Podcast to tell them some of the shortcuts or other times money saving ideas.
I have contributed so much to Google as I use Google myself. I have more than 35 million views on my contributions and comments. This has helped so many.
When I get a Kudos, a Like or a Thumbs up from someone, it brings me great joy. It all started with my passion to travel. This is what gave me the will for Travelideasusa. When you are in a foreign place there are so many unknowns and preparation and the knowledge you gain is what will make a trip extra ordinary. I am a frugal traveller and when I save money I pass it on through one of my channels. I hope you will follow and subscribe to endure this journey together. You can also follow me on all social medias. I would love to hear your journeys too.
When I began this Blog my goal was to keep a tab on places I have visited and to have some bragging rights. But this has become nothing of that. Today people come to me with questions and wanting to know what's what. Now even if I wanted to quit, I cannot. I have accumulated so much and I want to pass everything on without holding back.
Sometimes it is hard to choose a destination due to constrictions like someones budgets or where to go. I often talk of that in my podcast. Every place can be visited with every budget. Some times it's when and sometimes its how. It is never money. I write and talk about visiting far way places sometimes with nothing to pay. Accommodation choices for free and flying cheap are things that I brag to friends. Certain specifics like easy and cheap way to commute, have wifi without depending on cafes, ways to keep in touch and how to get to the city from the airport are among things I often mention for your know how.
I also do bike touring. This is a whole other way to travel. The world is catching on to this very quickly. I have traveled this way in many countries. This is when you pack up your bike and travel to various destination near and far. I have said this a million times, It is one of the best ways to see places. Along the way you will come across food you have never seen or eaten and people that you have never met. A roadtrip on bicycle seems unimaginable. But if you look, there are young and old are getting out on the road everyday on their bikes. I for one has done thousands of miles this way. Although at the beginning I have said to myself "what the hell am I doing". After your first ten miles, that thought flies away and you are looking for place to camp out at night. Usually by the side of the road. My last such trip was in Peru. This is the country of Machu Picchu. The food here is so good and you can buy anything on the side of the road. People are friendly everywhere when you are on a bike. Curiosity gets the best of them, they want to talk and they want to help. It is amazing!
The next best thing is road-trips. I have travelled the entire United States and Europe by car. In America and Canada it is very straight forward. But in other counties it is a whole other ball game as gas prices are high and sold in liters. The price you pay for a gallon at home, is what you would pay for a liter. In Great Britain you would drive on the right hand side of the road. Have you driven a car with a steering wheel on the right hand side of the car and you are driving on the left hand side of the road or vice versa. These things that we do on vacations, can sometimes seems like a joke or a prank. I have taken a lot of unusual vacations where most people wouldn't consider that vacation. Doing the same thing on a vacation for me is boring. I go on vacations to relax my mind. But my body gets a rough workout. Often people talk about their vacations to friends at the office or at work place. Just imagine their faces when they hear unusual things!!!
I am inspired by the comments and subscription that I get on a daily basis. I hope you will join my journey, where we can have some great laughs and go to places that will take our breath away. America is a big country compare to Europe. Some of the little cites have so many nice things to venture out and food that you will talk about for the rest of your life. I hope I have motivated you to travel. Some times we travel with other people and sometimes you travel solo. Some of my best trips are done alone. Once you do one you are will be hooked. I know people who dare not to travel solo and they have reached me after listening to my podcast on solo traveling how they are going to do it. It is things like that that excites me to write and talk.
I am revisiting some of my old blog posts just so that they are not outdated. So if you have visited before please revisit to see the updates. Covid 19 has changed how we travel and I also write about CDC guidelines and updates that are unique to specific countries. Every country as its own protocol.
Backpacking is something that Europeans and Canadians do the best. Carrying you whole house on the back is something that I do and have mastered over time. If you are like me that you get high doing unusual things like hiking in dangerous places, I like you already. I have so many tips for you. If you know the Appalachian trail and hiked it, you know what it takes. You and I can sit all night and exchange stories. American National parks are a must visit. They are unique and have different things to offer. National parks and forests like Yellowstone National Park, Zion National Park, The Arches National Park, Yosemite, Sequoia National Park and the Grand Canyon are places with some great hikes. These are great places to camp if you are backpacking. Some are bear country and what do you do to keep them away. These are things that needs to be prepared. A short hike can become never ending as with bad direction and disorientation.
The the preparations for a specific trip. What to take, when is a good time to go, the weather and expenses. A lot of people visit Las Vegas and never go to the Hoover Dam which is not far away. If you did you would know, That water defies gravity and travel upwards. Or the Red Rock Canyon where you could hike for miles, which is twenty miles away.
